
It is with much regret that we have decided to withdraw from our performance at this afternoon's matinee at the Joseph Rowntree theatre.
Having considered the current uncertain times with the Corona virus stealthily and aggressively moving through our world, the choir felt, having received expert medical guidance, that the risks were too great for our elderly members to go ahead with the performance. This decision was made last night at what would have been our final rehearsal for the show.
Clearly, the organisers are bitterly disappointed, but I have ben at pains to make clear our justification for the decision and ultimately, the ever-changing medical landscape, means our daily decisions have to be ones of new alertness and proactivity.
We had ten members gathering last night and we sang through what we would have performed this afternoon. The ladies did a sterling job at around half the capacity of the usual choir and I would like to share the recordings of their "performance" last night:
